The 32nd Swansea Scout Group Executive Committee plays a vital role in the running of the Group. The Executive Committee makes decisions and carries out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to young people in the Group.
What do we do?
The Executive Committee has several responsibilities which include:
- Maintaining the Scout Hut
- Providing equipment for the Scout Group
- Ensuring that the Scout Group is suitable insured
- Raising funds for the Group
- Administering the Scout Group’s finances
- Assisting in the recruitment of leaders
- Organising social events
As the 32nd Swansea Scout Group is a charity, all members of the Executive Committee are Trustees of the charity.

Who are we?
Group Scout Leader – Hedley Jones

Hedley has been GSL of Rhyddings Scout Group for over 10 years and has been involved with the Group for over 40 years. Hedley is now retired after previously being employed as an Electronic Technician and Shift Engineer at Corus, now Tata Steel, Port Talbot steelworks.
Hedley currently works part time as volunteer manager for Penllergaer Valley Woods.
Chairperson – Terry Avery

Now retired, Terry has assisted Hedley in his leadership role for many years but has recently stepped back to focus on family, but still retains his role as Chairperson.
Treasurer – Jane Ball

Jane is a school teacher and volunteered to take on the role of Group Treasurer.

Can I join the committee?
Yes! The Executive Committee is always looking for new members to join. If you don’t have the time to be a leader, then joining the Exec is a great way to help with minimal commitment. If you’d like to consider this, email chair@32ndswanseascouts.org.uk
